I’m taking part in the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

1 in 3 women is a shocking statistic... which means we all know of someone... 

But then it's not a woman's issue, nor is it only a woman's issue to fix. It really does take a village. It takes a woman's courage to help another out of something dreadful  but we also need support from the men. It stand up and call out the behaviours they see and experience. That one in three is a sister, mother, aunt, daughter, friend, work colleague... a woman who doesn't see an end to the abuse and believes, "this is life now" and it really doesn't need to be that way. I wish I didn't know people affected, I really do but it just isn't the case. I'm merely trying to help those who help others so they can provide some form of hope and levity to a dark dark situation
