How do I sign up?

To sign up to the challenge, register for your FREE t-shirt and fundraising page here.

When you register, your fundraising page will be automatically set up for you.

Is there a fundraising target?

We have no minimum or maximum amount that we would like you to raise, it is completely up to you. Every single donation will make a difference.

Do I have to fundraise to take part in the challenge?

Yes, this event is a fundraising challenge. Every penny raised will support our cause. Every donation makes a difference!

How can I encourage donations on my online fundraiser?

  • Share your Fundraising page loud and proud, you’re doing something amazing so make sure to let everyone know.
  • Tell your story, let friends and family know why you’re supporting Women’s Aid and why their support would mean the world to you.
  • Use our Challenge graphics and share them on your fundraising page.
  • Ask others in the Facebook group how they are raising funds.

When will I get my fundraising pack and t-shirt?

You should receive your pack within 10 working days of signing up. If you don't, please email challenges@womensaid.ie and we can look into this for you.

The Challange

Is there an entry fee?

There is no entry fee for this challenge but we do however ask you to fundraise as part of your challenge.

Using the fundraising page set up for you when you register is the easiest way to collect sponsorship. It is quick and easy to share with friends and family so that they can sponsor you as you take on the challenge.

How do I get my free t-shirt?

Once you register for the challenge and set up a fundraising page we will send you your free t-shirt. Please note it takes up to 10 working days to be delivered.

How do I keep track of how many miles I've done?

Your profile page includes your personal distance tally so you can track your distance towards your target. This is a great way to keep your friends updated on your walks!

You can keep track of your miles using any tracker app on your phone, and we do recommend using Strava, Fitbit or Garmin. Don't miss out on joining the Strava club.

Follow these steps to log your kilometres on your page and keep friends and family updated.

1. Log in to your account by clicking the person icon in the top right of the screen here 
2. Click the person icon in the top right again
3. Click My Fundraising
4. Click My Fitness Activity
5. Scroll down to Add Activity and type in how many miles you've done and any other details
6. Click Save Changes

When and where is the challenge?

This is a virtual challenge for everyone so you can do this throughout September at your own pace. You can do this in your local area, park or gym. You can do this together with your friends and family.

If you want to complete your miles in a different way, such as running, jogging, cycling etc. then go for it! Just be sure to post your progress and updates on your Fundraising page so friends and family can cheer you on and we can see how you’re doing too! 

Is there a Facebook group?

Yes! You can join others taking on the challenge in the Facebook group here.

Strava

How to use Strava as part of the challenge?

You can use Strava to keep count of the miles you clock up as part of the challenge. You can join our Strava Club to log your miles and join our community of walkers coming together to make a difference this September. Make sure to read our safety tips below on using Strava as part of the challenge

Safety tips: 
1. The Strava Club is public; Please ensure you only share what you feel comfortable with. Please note that sharing your routes starting from home could let people know where you live. Here are steps you can take to create a privacy zone around your home https://support.strava.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000173384-Privacy-Zones 

  1. You can make your Strava account private in your personal settings.
  2. If you need support or advice for yourself, a family member or friend, then please call the Women’s Aid National Freephone Helpline on 1800 341 900.
