RevFit Planks for Women’s Aid
Throughout November, RevFit members and coaches across our three locations in Cabra, Churchtown and Killiney are taking part in the Women’s Aid Plank Every Day in November Challenge.
Every RevFit training session this month will finish with a dedicated plank block, scaled so that every member can take part, whatever their fitness level.
Why this matters to us
Across Ireland, one in three women experience abuse from someone they once loved and trusted. Every five minutes, someone contacts Women’s Aid for information and support.
Over the past 18 months, the fitness industry in Ireland has seen a number of serious cases of violence against women involving gym owners and personal trainers. These were people in positions of trust, working in spaces where women should feel safe. Survivors have spoken publicly about their fear that abusers can return to the industry undetected.
As a gym community serving hundreds of women every week, we believe our industry has a responsibility to do better: to hold higher standards, to speak up, and to support the organisations doing this vital work. This challenge is one way we are acting on that responsibility.
Where your donation goes
Every contribution, large or small, helps Women’s Aid continue its 24-hour National Freephone Helpline, its frontline support services, and its work educating young people on healthy relationships.
