I’m taking part in the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

You are not alone ✨ 
As a teenager, I survived domestic violence. I know the fear, the isolation, the way it makes you question your worth. But I also know now there is a way out, and there are people who will do anything to help you if you give them the word.

Today, I’m married to a man who adores the ground I walk on. Not in a flashy way, but in the most genuine, loving way. He’s shown me what respect, care, and partnership truly look like.

And sometimes I ask myself — how did I not see the signs back then? Why wasn’t there someone like me, ready to say you don’t have to go through this alone?

That’s why I get so angry when I see men trying to break women down. Because I know the truth: when women stand up, and when partners stand beside them, there is so much power in that.

To any woman reading this: you are not weak, you are not alone, and you are never without options. Please, speak out. Reach out. There is life, safety, and love on the other side. 💜
