I'm running 100K in October

I’m taking part in the Run 100K in October Challenge to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little, anything helps. I hope you can support me by donating whatever you can. By supporting Women’s Aid you can change lives, and save lives.

Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely. You can also share my page using Share options below. This is a great way to show your support.

Thanks so much for your support, it will bring hope, healing and the possibility of a brighter future for women and children.

100 KM down, but fundraising needs to go the distance

Tuesday 21st Oct
This evening I lumbered around the Phoenix Park for 7.25 miles. The ground has been covered in terms of distance but the fundraising needs to step up a level. I'll be knocking on virtual doors from this evening!

Dawn till dusk ...

Thursday 16th Oct
This week I've frontloaded my mileage via running on Wednesday morning before work and Thursday evening after work. (I'm away this weekend and next). Joe Gleeson | Strava Runner Profile In that regard I'm running in darkness but I'm helping with footfall and making areas safer for others, hopefully.

A different charity today, but the distance counts for Women's Aid

Saturday 11th Oct
This morning I ran in the Simon Community 5k Home Run, which had been deferred from last week. A steady 22:59 on the chip, and 1.75 miles of warm up/down. I'll add to the plain vanilla non-racing mileage tomorrow! https://www.strava.com/activities/16104225651

Much of my October mileage will be visible on GarminConnect

Tuesday 7th Oct
For those who are holdouts against Strava, I'm going to make much of my October mileage visible on Garmin Connect. For example, this morning before work I did 0.5 mile x4 and 0.25 mile x5 warm up/down segments. A modest 3.25 miles but some worthwhile effort. https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/20614069255 and https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/20614069095

My October mileage is viewable on Strava

Monday 6th Oct
Hi, my Women's Aid fundraiser page will keep a running total of my mileage but if you'd like to see the various runs then feel free to take a glance at Strava: for the month of October my activities will be visible to all. https://www.strava.com/athletes/155070131
