Thank you for visiting my fundraising

I’m taking part in the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little, anything helps. I hope you can support me by donating whatever you can. By supporting Women’s Aid you can change lives, and save lives.

Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely. You can also share my page using Share options below. This is a great way to show your support.

Thanks so much for your support, it will bring hope, healing and the possibility of a brighter future for women and children.

My Updates

I have never been more concerned by being a woman than in the last five years

Sunday 17th Aug
Domestic abuse isn’t the easiest thing for me to talk about.

It’s not the easiest thing for me to admit experience with as most people would see me as a strong willed and opinionated woman.

I can safely say that these Cheryl like traits didn’t come from the shy goofy kid I once was but from an expression of the pain involved with “choosing” the wrong man.

If it wasn’t what I thought, it was what I wore, if picking fights wasn’t costing me my degree and education, it was costing me my time, my focus and if I didn’t stand up and walk away when I did, I’d probably be married to now with the children I yearned so much for yet wanting children is not the reason to stay.

Men don t need to punch you for you to feel punched, they don’t need to bruise you for you to look worn and torn.

Their need to control can dim the brightest light inside you, they can make up stories and ruin your life and we keep telling women that they should have just chose better.

Domestic violence happens to the best of us and women have enough to be dealing with than some spoiled man’s whim.

I implore any woman who is not being treated with the utmost respect and dignity that any woman and human  should be treated with, to leave now, leave before you can t see a way out because there is one and there is a life on the other side.

All the best with fundraising. Hope you smash that modest goal and I’m sure the world will be a better place in some way due to your initiative and positive energy (as with many times before I’m sure). Fair play to you. Always mean to catch up with you when I’m up in donegal; but always seem rushed and have too much to I do family wise with too little time up there. Anyway, all the best with the challenge and hope you get dry skies for the most of the walks. 🏃‍♀️
