Thank you for visiting my fundraising

I’m taking part in the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little, anything helps. I hope you can support me by donating whatever you can. By supporting Women’s Aid you can change lives, and save lives.

Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely. You can also share my page using Share options below. This is a great way to show your support.

Thanks so much for your support, it will bring hope, healing and the possibility of a brighter future for women and children.

100 miles later

Tuesday 30th Sep
It was a huge relief when I hit the 99 mile mark last Friday. There were moments in September when I wasn’t sure I was going to hit this target. It seemed very achievable when I signed up in early September. A few miles a day every day - that’s all I needed to do. But of course that wasn’t always possible as life throws obstacles in the way of your best laid plans and intentions. Almost a week of rest was needed due to a flare up of a recurring neck condition - even short walks with the dog were beyond me. But when I had energy again I got out into the glorious autumn sunshine and rain and enjoyed every step.
I’ve been lucky to not have experience of domestic violence. I know people who haven’t been so lucky and I walked for them and anyone who has survived it or needs the strength to escape it.
If you haven’t donated to Women’s Aid please consider it - their help is invaluable to those who need it. We need to help in any way we can to prevent any more unnecessary tragedies, to give women in bad situations the courage to seek help and hope for a better future.
Thank you to all who have donated and supported my challenge so far - it really helped to motivate me and get me out that door come rain or shine.
Sammy the dog is very thankful too - he’s enjoyed every single step with me too!
