Thank you for visiting my fundraising

I’m taking part in the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little, anything helps. I hope you can support me by donating whatever you can. By supporting Women’s Aid you can change lives, and save lives.

Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely. You can also share my page using Share options below. This is a great way to show your support.

Thanks so much for your support, it will bring hope, healing and the possibility of a brighter future for women and children.

Target Achieved !!

Friday 26th Sep
I had set a target of 660 steps a day, which is roughly 0.33 of a mile ish.
Over the 30 days of September that is 10 miles, give or take.
As far as I can see I have now passed that target !! In fact I passed it on the 23rd.
As of writing this I have passed 11 miles now !!!!!!!!!
Go me !  I am so pleased that I have been able to push things this hard and not fall apart lol

6000 Step Day and Downhill from There lol

Friday 26th Sep
I had a very good start to the month, managing at least my goal of 660 steps a day, and sometimes 700.
Then one day a friend took me to the doc for a regular visit, to the shops, recycling etc.  I amassed over 6000 steps that day early in the month !
I could do very little for the next 4 or 5 days lol But have managed to walk around 700 steps each day, apart from those few when I was flattened.
So I am easily going to achieve the goal that I set myself, to walk an average of 660 steps a day for the whole month of September.
And I won't stop at the end of the month either, so that's a huge win.
If you haven't sponsored me yet, please feel free to donate to this incredibly important cause - Women's Aid - to help domestically abused women in Ireland
Take care and thank you for caring,
Amanda

Today's The Day !! September 1st

Monday 1st Sep
September the first, the day I have to force myself to walk a minimum of 1/3rd of a mile / or 0.53 of a kilometre / or 660 steps.
This will achieve my goal of 10 miles during September.
I promise I will post here and on Facebook every day, with the number of steps I have achieved the previous day.
To give you some idea of how hard walking, or even standing, is for me, if I hit 250 steps on a normal day I am pleased with myself.
So thank you for supporting me to raise these funds, and me personally, as I try to do this.

My Goal for September

Thursday 28th Aug
Hello friends !
As most reading this will know, I'm physically disabled and cannot walk very far at all, and even standing causes pain. Even to the gate at the end of my drive and back is a very painful trip.  Plus I have been very ill the last year or so, with severe asthma attacks and serious iron deficiency anaemia/low blood oxygen (thankfully now very much improved).
Obviously, I cannot do the 100 miles in September, only in my dreams, as that would be 3.33 miles a day.
So I am aiming for 10 miles, 1/3rd of a mile a day, which is still a massive mountain for me.
Anyone who knows me well, knows what I have experienced at the hands of two different men, both of them for years.
So if you can, please donate to this incredibly worthwhile cause.
Or if you can't donate, then you can help by sharing a link to my fundraiser to your Facebook page or elsewhere, which will be hugely appreciated.
I will post regular updates here, hopefully daily, but at least weekly.
Much love and thanks,
Amanda

You are an extremely strong woman, and I am proud to call you friend. I know that walk will be hard, but I also know you’re as tough as nails!
