I’m walking 80K this February to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

I firstly want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has viewed my page, shared and donated. The support is honestly unbelievable, and there aren’t enough words to express how truely grateful I am. 
I want to give a bit of background as to why I’m doing this fundraiser. I vaguely remember hearing about Women’s Aid when I was in transition year when the Rape Crisis Centre came into school and had a talk with us. Then again, when I went to college, the assistance that Women’s Aid provides women in domestic abuse situations became more prominent. Nobody should suffer abuse at the hands of someone they love, let it be physical, sexual, mental or psychological, no-one should be abused by a loved one. 1 in 3 women in Ireland, right now, are being abused by an individual who they loved and trusted. That’s someone’s mother, daughter, sister, aunt, best friend. That’s someone. 
Due to your donations, Women’s Aid is able to provide the help and, more often than not, life saving assistance to women in need across Ireland. 
Over the next coming weeks, I’ll be updating the page and logging the kilometres until the 80km is met. 
So join me as together, we raise awareness for this amazing charity.
