Thank you for visiting my fundraising page

I’m taking part in the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little, anything helps. I hope you can support me by donating whatever you can. By supporting Women’s Aid you can change lives, and save lives.

Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely. You can also share my page using Share options below. This is a great way to show your support.

Thanks so much for your support, it will bring hope, healing and the possibility of a brighter future for women and children.

Saturday 19th Sep
Barely managed my 5K today but I stil did it! Think Ive the plague 😶‍🌫️

Resting in peace x

Friday 18th Sep

Sick as a small hospital 😂

Friday 18th Sep
Not well atall the last couple of days, but today wasn’t great! Tried to do my stuff but I was so out of breath & hot I couldn’t manage much!! It’s either a flu, the plague r Covid has got me again! But either way I tried x it’s not lost on me that I’m allowed to be ill & to be able
to rest x every donation made will hopefully help someone else be allowed to rest! I was going to say in peace, but I think I’m mixing my metaphors! Those who know me, know it’s subliminal messaging 😎 🤧

This is not the cap in question!!

Wednesday 16th Sep

Steps come in all sizes!!!

Wednesday 16th Sep
Out on me walk earlier, it was a long one so I was really needing the loo! Turned a corner. me cap just blew off me head… yeah like a tumbleweed rolled all down the Ballymun Road! Ehh even got run over by a bus! An actual bus!  Like wheels over the cap!!
Fella behind me ran after it like Forest Gump to get it for meI!! Ehh thanks
but I’m a strong independent woman I can get it…. but I was losing the battle with the tinkle & I’d also walked miles by this point…so thanks..
Scarlet for me life OMG OMG, would’ve pissed me pants if I had to bend down  to get it in all honesty!! ! Rammed that cap rite back on me head tyre marks n all 🫣🫣🫣😂😂🤭🤭🤭🫪🫪🫪🤪 couldn’t even say thanks properly cause I really needed the loo!
Brought this to mind…..not all men!
But then it’s ALL women x all women/girls have it bred into them
that their actions can result in horrific outcomes!
Even walking in the dark r choosing the wrong person to pour your love into!

I love you all, thanks for the support!! PS don’t tell my son it was his €120 cap 🤫 in the context of Women’s Aid secrets are terrible, but this one time in the context of me having to buy a new cap 🤐 🤫 I need to raise money, not spend it x

Have 5 ships!!

Tuesday 15th Sep

Why have 1 ship

Tuesday 15th Sep

Half way!!!!!

Tuesday 15th Sep
I’m half way!!!! Can’t believe it! I’ve been ahead of schedule the whole time & I couldn’t be prouder of myself! Hopefully I can add to the fundraising to make it more sweet x

Yesterday

Saturday 12th Sep
Yesterday was a hard one! Got new runners & they literally caused me pain the whole time 😫 the relief when I got home to take them off, can’t even explain the exhale! 😎 after I got over my little whinge it occurred to me…the reason I’m doing this is to help people get out of painful situations & live a feeling of relief..eventually 😎 isn’t it ironic… x

Rowing, Rain & Rainbows 🌈

Thursday 10th Sep
Day 10!!! Day bloody 10, can’t actually believe I’ve made it a 1/3 of the way through!! Sometimes when Ur in a dark
place you can’t even see a chink of light & you can’t imagine that outside the crippling darkness there is anything else. Every single step taken raises money for those who need help to
escape the veil of darkness & take a step into the light of safety! I’m humbled every day (cid be exhaustion!) when I think to write these blogs (that no one will read 😂) always makes me emotional & kinda proud x thanks again all x ps I’m also half way through the challenge distance x chuffed albeit it a little damp 😂

Day 8 - end of week 1!!!

Tuesday 8th Sep
Can’t believe this week is over already! The walking sometimes seems long but the challenge is flying by! Maybe I shud get a helicopter instead 🤔 any hoo, it’s only reminds me that I’m so lucky to be in the position to have free will & do whatever I want, if any of the money raised can help one person not to spend one more minute being in an unsafe place & be free I’d do this every day 💜 thanks again all you fab people x

Day 7 - just keep schlepping.......

Monday 7th Sep
So I'm still alive on day 7 YAY!! and guess what??? it's raining again BOO! but TBH I'm kinda glad cause I'm less likely to see other humans in the wild who can witness me schlepping in the rain! But the cause is so worthy I'm so happy I started this, while wondering why didn't I chose something involving the sofa instead!!
But I'm honestly SO thankful to everyone who has donated so far, I cannot say how proud I am & how much all your support means to me, and NO not cause I'm too out of breath LOL xxx

Sunday funday

Sunday 6th Sep

Squirrellly Sunday!

Sunday 6th Sep

Day 6 - Sunday with the squirrels

Sunday 6th Sep
Had to double my distance today to make up for yesterday’s wander from the goal! In fairness it was for the man
Child 🧒 met meself a new besto! Squirrels are the craic!! Fits the brief cause my legs think I’m nuts meself for the extended steps today 🐿️ but squirreling those kms day by day to make some much needed money for Women’s Aid 💜

Day 5

Saturday 5th Sep
Day 5, here’s hoping 🤞🏻

Day 4, because why walk to the fridge when you can walk 5K for a brilliant cause!

Friday 4th Sep
So seemingly going for a 'little walk' has escalated....Will I become a fitness icon?? Absolutely not. Will I complain about my feet?? 100%. Will I keep going?? You bet your sweet patootie I will.....
these 30 days are about so much more than a 'little walk'
Walking with purpose, walking with heart, walking for change :)
Thanks again to everyone who has supported so far x
Every single penny helps someone take baby steps to safety x

Day 3, I’m gonna need a bigger boat 😂

Thursday 3rd Sep
So today’s walk officially made me think I might be better doing this challenge on a boat rather than walking!!! 🚤 Dublin, you never fail to rise to the occasion 🌧️ drownded rat is an understatement, lashed on from start to finish, but I did it, all without a wetsuit or a parrot 🦜I just wanna say thanks again for all your donations, hopefully they can be used to buy a lifeboat to some woman out there who is at risk of drowning x appreciate all the kind words & the treasure 🏴‍☠️ soz enough of the pirate puns, Thanks, I mean it 💜

Day 3……aggghhh matey!

Thursday 3rd Sep
Officially entered my pirate era!

Day 3, Sporty Era activated!!!

Thursday 3rd Sep
So....following yesterday's wardrobe malfunction, later today, for day 3 I'll be going back to my Women's Aid
T shirt!!! And who knew?? when you wear the shirt you actually have to do the walking D'oh!! Hopefully I survive better today now that I've exited the wet wooly jumper competition in the swampy Dublin air! Thanks to everyone who has donated, I really appreciate it x such a good cause I feel honoured to take part & raise any amount :)

Red but not dead 💀

Wednesday 2nd Sep
Wet woolly jumper competition (and no this is not rain!! 🤦🏼‍♀️💜)

Day 2…..21 degrees in Dublin

Wednesday 2nd Sep
Well let’s just say today’s walk was interesting!! All I’ll say is if Ur phone tells you it’s 21 degrees & the air is as clammy as wearing a fur coat in a sauna, don’t…. I repeat DON’T do Ur walk in ur work clothes, and a raincoat and a mahoosive backpack! Cause Lads, Dora the Explorer I am not!!! Let’s just say I won’t be rolling out a business plan for a wet wooly jumper competition any time soon!!! 🤫 🍉 🍉 anyhoo…..really question my life choices sometimes till i remember the fantastic cause! I’ll ’just Keep swimming’ 🐠 one step at a time 👠

And just like that..........

Wednesday 2nd Sep
SO here we are, Day 2!
Later I will complete my second 5K a day for the 30 days of September for Women's Aid!
Just need to sort out my questionable route choices & really in all honesty questionable life choices (what am I doing???)....think I've lost the plot, let's just hope I don't actually get lost on today's meander!
The support I've received so far is greatly appreciated & I really will bake cakes at the end :0)

Day One!

Tuesday 1st Sep
So day 1 done. Only 29 to go! Every step of this challenge will help women who have been unheard, unseen or alone.
For those finding the strength to leave, feel supported & be free.
It’s only 1 day, 1 step, 1 mile/km, 1 woman at at time 🫶🏻💜

Day One!

Tuesday 1st Sep
Day one complete….only 29 more to go 😎😂

Today is the day.....Day ONE!!

Tuesday 1st Sep
Step one on the journey.....
This isn't just a challenge, I'm taking on 5K a day to raise a bit of money (no matter how bit or small) for Women's Aid & support those affected by domestic abuse.
Behind every stat is a person, a Mother, a Daughter, a Sister, a Friend...someone who deserves safety, dignity & a life free from fear x
I'll keep putting one foot in front of the other - because every step can help someone take a step towards a safer future.
