I’m taking part in the Women's Mini Marathon for Women's Aid, an amazing charity, at the end of May
Across Ireland, 1 in 3 women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.
Over 85% of femicides in Ireland were committed by men known to the victim, with 55% carried out by a current or former partner. Most devastatingly, 63% of these women were killed in their own homes, the very place they should have been safest.
Women’s Aid provides essential support, advocacy and emergency assistance to those trying to escape abusive situations. For many women, making that first call can be life-changing, and life-saving.
Any donation, no matter how small, would mean so much and will help support women and children who need safety, protection and hope. Thank you so much for supporting this incredibly important cause 💜xx
