I’m walking 80K this February to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

Really have to clock up the kms

Sunday 22nd Feb
Had a few bad days . So need to catch up this week to reach the goal of 80km by next weekend . Got a long walk in this morning and the sun was shining for a big change. Ice cold dip helped with the recovery. Spent the rest of the day cleaning and packing . Hoping for more walks this week in Centre Parcs 🍀💪

Day 16

Monday 16th Feb
Haven’t been typing ! but I have been keeping photos as accountability .  Some walks have been a wash out resulting in suds in my runners and mud! A few days I struggled to get the kms in. But I am slowly gathering the mileage . Delighted to have raised my over my target of 100€ this has giving me the push to keep going .thank you to all who have donated . Hot yoga ice baths have helped with the stiffness and the flares in between but proud to be able to do this walking that I haven’t managed in over 2 years . 

Day 7

Saturday 7th Feb
Needed to clock up the kms today . Very sore day yesterday so decided not to push through . A big family adventure today in clogherhead . We walked the scenic cliff walk and reminded me of how much I love it here . It was slippy and muddy and it resulted in a bad fall . But àine helped me and I got back to the pier before the rain . Great adventure with a pitt stop at the beach for a toastie  

Day 4

Wednesday 4th Feb
Off today and managed to motivate myself for a 3km walk in the drizzly rain. 
Body is very sore today but stretching a hot yoga 🧘‍♂️ will hopefully help later and keep me motivated 
A little 1km for school collection today. 
Adding it all up in case I have a bad flare that stops me .

Tuesday 3rd Feb
A little lunch time walk in the rain 
A walk to the bus in the rain 
A walk before dinner in the dark and guess what it was raining ! 
Roll on brighter spring days 🙏

Day 2

Monday 2nd Feb
2 walks today . Who loves a bank holiday ? Body very stiff today . 
Ice bath got me moving this morning for a lovely peaceful walk with a podcast. Walk with the kids consisted of lots of mud, screams , laughter, ditches and slippery fun . Can’t beat the country air

A dark wet start to February. But motivated to get a good start. Oisìn accompanied me on his bike to cheer me on and get some treats at the Pitt stops ! The sun came out and Áine wanted to bring her triplets for a walk. Spring is here 😍
