I’m taking part in the Walk 100 Miles in September Challenge to raise much needed funds for Women’s Aid.

Across Ireland one in three women live with suffocating abuse from someone they once loved; someone they once trusted. Every 5 minutes, someone reaches out to Women’s Aid for information and support.

Your contribution will make an impact, whether you donate a lot or a little, anything helps. I hope you can support me by donating whatever you can. By supporting Women’s Aid you can change lives, and save lives.

Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely. You can also share my page using Share options below. This is a great way to show your support.

Thanks so much for your support, it will bring hope, healing and the possibility of a brighter future for women and children.

My Updates

Donegal this week

Thursday 17th Sep
Hi All, Had hoped to bw walking the beautiful shore walk in M9ville all this week, while I was up training in the BIM Fisheries College, but the weather had other ideas 🙈. So while I did get a few km's on Sundy evening after driving up, the rest of my walks - 2x 7km and 1x 8km were on the treadmill in the Redcastle Hotel Gym 🏋️‍♀️ 💪

Two walks today

Saturday 12th Sep
A combination of 2 walks today approx 8km in total. And managed to get both done without getting rained on which was an achievement 😂. Did a round of the Gort River Walk, combined with a short walk in Coole Park. Thanks to everyone for supporting- it's really appreciated.

What a difference a day makes!

Friday 11th Sep
Today was the complete opposite of yesterday and my 7km walk today was an absolute pleasure as the sun shone down on me the whole way 😎🌞.
Took a detour to see Dromelihy holy well. Beautifully maintained by a local committee.
Thanks a million to everyone who has supported me and Women's Aid.

Wet on the Wild Atlantic Way

Thursday 10th Sep
My first walk early this morning was in full rain gear, with my wolly hat pulled down around my ears in an effort to fend off the driving rain and gale force winds!! Just about managed 5km/3miles.
Got out for a short 3km ish at lunch as well - less rain gear needed thank God!
Felt bad for the golfers trying to play the Irish Open in these conditions.
Thanks a million to everyone who has sponsored me to date - all the funds raised will go directly to Women's Aid.

Rinville Park: 5km/3miles

Tuesday 8th Sep
Blustery but dry round of Rinville Park today. Lovely after so much rain!
Thanks so much for supporting 🙏

Very wet 10km/6 mile walk but lovely sky this evening

Monday 7th Sep
Making up for a missed walk yesterday so managed to get 10km in this evening. Started off getting soaked but dry feet - thank goodness for Gortex!! The rain cleared  as I walked and thankfully I finished my walk with a gorgeous sky.
Thanks a million for supporting 🙌

Walking and blackberry picking 😀

Saturday 5th Sep
Still some lovely blackberries left on the hedges around me so decided to pick what is probably the last of them this evening on my walk. Gorgeous evening and only showered once 🙂. A local 6km or just over 3.72 miles loop this evening. Thanks a million for supporting 🙌

Kilrush Town Circut walk - 12km

Friday 4th Sep
Today I managed to get a 12km walk on the Kilrush Town Walking Route. Started in Kilrush Town, out through Cappa, past the pier there, which is a lovely swimming spot. The route goes along the Shannon Estuary and then back into Gort town. I added a loop of the Marina and then got myself a well earned coffee ☕️ 👌 😀
Thanks a million for your support

Gort River Walk

Thursday 3rd Sep
Did 10.24km or just over 6 miles today along the Gort River Walk, Kinincha Rd. And Gort Town. Definitely autumnal feel today but at least it stayed dry for me 👌. Thanks as always for supporting!

No Walk Today

Wednesday 2nd Sep
Horrible weather all day here, gale force winds and sideways rain! Was watching out for a window but no joy, so will make up the miles when I can this week.
Thanks for supporting!

1st 5km/3miles

Tuesday 1st Sep
Hi All,
Gorgeous morning for my first walk of the challenge. Walked 5.34km - definitely not setting any landspeed records, as I kept getting distracted by blackberries 😂 and beautiful butterflies!
Walking up the road I got the sweet smell of silage - weird I know but I absolutely love the smell of silage 😆.
Thanks to everyone supporting this really important cause 😍.
