Tuesday 27th Jan This February, I’m taking on a personal challenge to walk 80km in support of Women’s Aid, an incredible Irish charity that works tirelessly to prevent and address domestic abuse. As a final year university student in Maynooth University, this challenge is my way of giving back and using my platform for good to support a cause that really matters to me. Women’s Aid provides life-saving support to women and children through their free 24/7 National Freephone Helpline, one-to-one services, advocacy, and education, while also campaigning for long-term change so that everyone can live safe, equal, and violence-free lives.  Domestic abuse affects far too many people in Ireland, and Women’s Aid is often a vital lifeline when someone needs help the most.  In Ireland, around one in three women has experienced psychological, physical, or sexual abuse from an intimate partner, and thousands of disclosures of domestic abuse are made each year to Women’s Aid services; numbers that continue to rise and reflect how widespread this issue is. I’d be so grateful for any support you can give; even a single euro makes a difference. Every donation helps ensure that no woman has to face abuse alone.
